I think it’s about time we stop judging Kuwata for breaking down before his execution.
Kuwata never planned to murder anyone with anticipation (unlike Celes). When it happened, he also didn’t have any knowledge of the School Trial+Execution rules, thus he had little time to assimilate what was going on and what would happen to him (Unlike Oowada).
We shouldn’t forget Kuwata was also the first execution victim; no one knew what the executions were like, what did they involve or how they were; he was the ‘pioneer’ that would show the others how it was like.
It’s unfair to compare his reaction to Oowada’s or Celes’ because Kuwata was facing the unknown by becoming the first guilty verdict (something the other execution victims didn’t face, obviously), for a crime he never planned, and he predictably crumbled down when it became too real.
I doubt any of us wouldn’t have “cried pathetically”
